Please add the Site Info tool to the Mercury site by default.

The nightly servers are often used to verify bugs and fixes but a site needs to be created first since Mercury doesn't have all the tools (or edited to add the tool, every time). This takes time, however if the mercury site had this tool it could be easily used as the test site.

The 52545 revision references this jira, but looks to have been meant for another dealing with Samigo and Spanish translations.

Steve, while waiting for someone to provide a patch for this, I would recommend looking into something like Selenium and the Selenium IDE plugin for Firefox. You can record yourself creating accounts, configuring sites, etc., tweak that script as needed and save the script for later use. Anytime you encounter a fresh Sakai, then you can run the script to easily and quickly create a decently configured test environment.

Can this PLEASE be added in time for a 2.6 release? I constantly use the nightly servers for simple verifications as it's so much quicker than starting up my own instance and every single time I need to edit the mercury site to add the Site Info tool, or create a new one.

Never was able to get the plugin Peter mentioned running :(

I've attached a patch here for adding Site Info tool into Mercury site. Since I cannot check into kernel now, I am assigning the issue back to Steve for finding appropriate committers.

Thanks,

- Zhen

Thanks so much Zhen!

David, reckon you can get this into kernel for me?

Applied Zhen's patch thanks

Closed based on code review - low risk patch

Should this be showing up on the trunk nightly build servers by now? It's not and it was last built a few hours ago. Hmm.

However, the tool appears in Mercury site on the contrib nightly build:http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org:8085/portal, which uses HSQL.

Wonder what's the difference between the normal Sakai and contrib builds...
