We use the linktool to launch several homegrown tools that are heavily integrated with Sakai via. web services. The are all written in Adobe Coldfusion and share a common codebase for consuming Sakai data and services.

They include:

Exams (our legacy exams tool - Flash UI)
Grade Report (aggregates grade data from the gradebook - does Z-Score based cutoffs, and submits grades to SIS - Datatel)
SignMeUp (generic signup calendar)
PFW Pitch (allows students to collaborate with New England Journal of Medicine editors)
Anatomy Reports (manages gross anaotomy course table/cadaver assignments, etc)
Adobe Connect Bridge (provides alternate UI for interacting with Adobe Connect aka Breeze. Manages permissions, creates meetings, etc)
Patient Logs (allows students to track the types of patients they see in medical school)
Student Evals (manages the evaluation process of each student, and also generates their Dean's Letter aka Medical Student Performance Evaluation - which is shared with residency programs)
