I create a new account and added it to a test project site with the maintain role, and found it does not have a visible "Edit Viewer" link.

I altered this as admin in the !site.template realm manually, so that new project sites wouldn't have this trouble, just for QA convenience.

We'd need to supply a conversion script which would create the right permissions in OOTB realms, if this tool were to reach provisional status.
