Please email wording updates for this to kb@iu.edu. The revised docs from the KB will then get checked into svn.

I sent an email to kb@iu.edu requesting the needed changes to the documentation for Customize Tabs:

In re: to Sakai bug: SAK-11963, Update Help Content to reflect changes Tab/More Sites Behaviour (http://jira.sakaiproject.org/jira/browse/SAK-11963), I'd like to request the following two changes to the My Workspace > Preferences Overview help screen:

Change:
In My Workspace, you can set Preferences for how and how often you receive email notification of worksite activity, such as Email Archive messages, Announcements, and added Resources. You can also choose the worksites for which you'd like to see tabs.

To:
In My Workspace, you can set Preferences for how and how often you receive email notification of worksite activity, such as Email Archive messages, Announcements, and added Resources. You can also choose which worksites appear in your navigation, and which worksites have their own tabs.

Change:
Customize Tabs: By default, you will see a tab for each site to which you belong. If you wish to change which tabs are visible, click Customize Tabs and select the tabs for which you'd like to change the visibility.

To:
Customize Tabs: The first few/{# of tabs allowed by this institution, or, if specified, the # of tabs specified by the user} sites to which you belong have their own tabs in your navigation. To change the sites that have their own tabs, or remove a site completely from your navigation, click Customize Tabs.

In the change above, please either use the word "few" OR, if possible, replace the word "few" with the # of tabs specified by the user {I believe this is in UserPreferences.java}, and if that isn't set, with the # of tabs allowed by the institution {I believe portal.default.tabs in sakai.properties}. Anastasia or Joseph, in cc:, can provide you with information on how they did this for the Customize Tabs interface. E.g. the instructions should not say "The first few/3 sites"...it should say either "The first few sites" or "The first 3 sites."

These instructions will be valid whether the portal.use.dhtml.more=true sakai.properties setting (which turns on the 10448-Site Navigation Enhancement) is turned on or not.

Stephen, Margaret Ricci from Indiana University tells us that this change has been made to the KB (see https://www.indiana.edu/~sakaikb/display.cgi?docid=arce). We are not sure if this means it will automatically be packaged with the 2.5 RC, or if there is something more we should do. If there is, please let us know. Thanks!

These changes have been propagated to trunk and 2-5-x help in svn.

Also the help mechanism at present does not allow help content to be dynamically customized based on runtime info (such as sakai.properties settings), so for now we have to stick with standard wording.

Updating 2.5.x to 2.5.0.rc1 since the tag has been cut

I verified this on qa4-us, according to changes in text looks ok, I am unable to click on Customize tabs, since the link is broken.

I am closing the issue after the confirm from Megan May in community meeting, since this is not an issue to stop the functionality.
Thank you,
