Description

« Hide

This patch modifies the new site information and confirmation screens in Worksite Setup to provide a field for entry of a portal-relative URL alias. This allows site creators to create a more user-friendly URL than the default which includes the site id.

The alias is registered during site creation. However, it is not removed if the site is deleted. This prevents the alias from possible reuse by another site, with confusing results for the user.

The attached diff file patches SiteAction.java, the Velocity templates chef_site-newSiteInformation.vm and chef_site-newSiteConfirm.vm, and the properties file sitesetupgeneric.properties.

Peter, I cannot find the "fixed version" choices for this ticket. Neither can I edit the jira to add "fixed version"

Zhen, You need to "Move" it to a Task type issue when you decide to work on it. That will enable the Fix Version field, as well as notify the contributor that their patch is being considered for inclusion.

This isn't working correctly.

On the nightly trunk servers there is no field to enter an alias, but on the confirmation screen it has:

Site URL Alias:

but no content (because there was no spot to put one in).

The alias input field was removed by ~~SAK-15588~~.

However, for 2.7. this field should be enabled by default, unless specified otherwise in "wsetup.disable.siteAlias" variable.

FIxed in r58084.
