2.6.x Status: Resolved
2.5.x Status: None
2.4.x Status: None

 Description  « Hide
Steps to duplicate:
1. Student submits a (Points) Assignment
2. Instructor enters the Points for the Grade and clicks "Save"
3. Student can now see the points score even though the score had not been returned/released.

Instructor comments are not display but the score is.

I duplicated this behavior on our site and on http://qa3-us.sakaiproject.org:8086/portal

Paul, was this introduced after the 2.6.0 release?

Sam Ottenhoff added a comment - 29-Sep-2009 10:33
Raising this to blocker... This seems like a major regression especially because of grade release sensitivity.

I was able to replicate this on qa3 + local instance using latest 2.6.x code.

I was also able to replicate this on latest trunk.

I didn't hear of this happening before the 2.6.0 release, but I just verfied it is also happening on this 2.5 test server: http://qa5-us.sakaiproject.org/portal.

Paul:

I just tried the q5-us site but I cannot reproduce the problem.

Could you please try again and let me know the site id?

Hi Zhen,

Here were my steps to replicate on trunk and latest 2.6.x:

1) Become instructor, go to site
2) Add new assignment
3) Make it gradeable, Attachments + Inline -> Publish
4) Login as student
5) Attach a document, fill in inline field, submit
6) Login as instructor -> Grade assignment
7) Put in text in the inline field, give a score
8) SAVE (not Release)

Now login as student, click on the assignment, you will see score

Right. I can see that from trunk and 2.6.x, but not on qa5-us which is based on 2.5

I duplicated it with the "Walrus History" course. (I like to have fun with site names)
View the status of the graded assignment. Then login as ud_student1 to verify that the score is visible.

OK. I did repeat the problem for those submitted user with saved grades. It was not a problem for those without submission but have saved grades....

FIxed in r66957

Confirmed fixed in trunk. Tested using recipe above on local trunk instance.
