 Description  « Hide
I've confirmed instructor reports that when they duplicate an assignment and remove the attachments from the duplicate, the attachments from the original are also dropped. Is this by design? The original docs should not be lost.

Jim,

Maybe you can explain this better than I do...

Thanks,

Zhen,
The assignment tool is still saving attachments by making copies in the attachments area. Those copies get deleted when they are deleted from the entity they are attached to (or, in this case, when that entity is deleted). It seems like when the assignment tool duplicates an assignment, it should also create duplicates of any attachments. Can you do that in the assignment tool itself? If not, I will take a look.
Jim

Checked on qa1-za (2.2.003 using mysql)

Created an assignment with an attachment.
Duplicated the assignment.
Go to duplicate assignment and remove attachment.
Attachment is also removed from original assignment.

Fixed in r10540.

An extra instance of the each duplicated attachment will be created and assign to the new Assignment object.

Messing with attachments on duplicates doesn't seem to affect attachments on duplicates (or vice versa). Tested on 006.
