« Hide

Default file name *sometimes* fails to appear after new file is uploaded.

Problem is recurrent but not consistent, disappears after visiting any other screen--but seems likely to distress users.

I noticed this too (can't remember whether on trunk or our 2-4-x test build). The 'missing' name appeared after I uploaded a 2nd file.

Steve, Could you try this a few times and see if you can identify a way to reproduce it reliably? I think it occurs more frequently the first time you add something to a folder during a session, but I don't know if that's just coincidence. I'd appreciate if you could try a few tests on nightly2 to see if you can identify any patterns. Please assign back to me. Thanks.

I just spent a little time looking at it and right at the moment on Nightly
(and this isn't really what we've seen in the past), the first URL or first
file you upload into a site doesn't have it's name displayed, but all
subsequent files display correctly.

This is consistently reproducible at the moment

- create a new account on http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org:8081
- create a new project site
- add a file
- it will not display the title
- add another file
- it will display the titles for both

- create a new project site
- add a URL
- it will not display the title
- add another URL
- it will display the titles for both

- create a new project site
- add a folder
- it will display the title
- add a file
- it will not display the title
- add another file
- it will display the titles for both URLs

My testing of other bugs does suggest to me that the problem now appears the first time you add resources to the system - subsequent resources do not show the same problem.
