Harriet Truscott - 19-Sep-2007 03:03 Hi Jim A Quick Question before we QA properly - who should it send emails out to when we say 'send email to instructors'? - is it hard coded as 'instructor' role, does it send it to everyone with dropbox.maintain permission, or is there an extra permission that it checks to see who gets an email? Harriet p.s. checked on Nightly and verified the existence of a box saying 'send email to instructor(s)'

Could we still provide a check box to select instructor but have the box for the appropriate instructor/ta pre-selected if the student is in a section/group? Not sure how feasible this would be from a technical standpoint, but it would provide some consistency with other group aware tools that way.

Megan May - 06-Feb-2008 11:59 Tasks for 2.5.0 have been completed. We're nearing the end of the QA cycle and A lot of general regression testing has been going on for the past few months - the changes have likely been reviewed via this method of testing

John Leasia - 11-Mar-2008 08:15 We pulled in much of 2.5 in order to do the resources conversion recently, and are finding the drop box notification problematic. Instructors of large classes don't want hundreds of emails about files being uploaded. There probably should be 1) a preferences setting for drop box notifications (and clarity about what level the notifications from drop box are - they should probably be low so as to be controlled by the preference setting when it is available), and 2) an options page that allows instructors to turn on/off the ability of students to notify instructors at all). This should probably be in 2.5.1 judging by the response we've received.
