Yeah, plagiarism detection is HOT.
We use Ephorus for this (www.ephorus.nl) in our current VLE. We make use of the webservice that Ephorus offers on the market. Is there any commonality (open standard?) for these kind of services that we know of? UCT is starting work on TII support within the next 2-3 weeks.
Stephan, could you share a general outline of your plans when you have a chance? Such as, is this intended for 2.4, are you thinking of a separate tool here or integration with Assignments and Samigo? Thanks.
We will be building this so that it can run against a 2-3-x build, with the aim of getting it merged into trunk hopefully for 2.4
Our primary use case is integration with Assignments. We hadn't considered Samigo but perhaps there may be a way in which the service could be available to other tools. We'll keep that in mind. Sounds good. Let's target it for 2.4 for now then, and you can update as your plans progress.
This issue is currently scheduled to be addressed for the 2.4 release. There are only 3 days left until code freeze. If know already that this issue will not be addressed for 2.4, please updated the Fix Version with a new estimate of when it will be addressed. Thanks.
checked the content-review-api into svn/content-review/trunk with r22655
The provisional Turnitin implementation will be checked into contrib For followup, please see:

This needs to be checking in light of the role back of assignments in 2.4
David - any way to check if this is all working now on nightly? I suppose it would have to have the turnitin module built along with nightly though. Maybe a checkout of 2.4 and then Assignments trunk on top of that?
Hi John,
Sorry I had meant to test this on our nightly build - which suffered a RAID array failure. Yes if we could drop in the implementation and set assignment.useContentReview=true in sakai.properties Dave |
