Resolution: Won't Fix
Affects Version/s: 2.4.0, 2.4.1
Fix Version/s: None
The good news is that you can use the Source view in the FCK editor to embed a flash video from, say, YouTube, into an html page you create in Resources. And that means that you can get video onto the Home page of your site via the Site Info URL in the Worksite Setup frame. People dig this!
The bad news is that you can't quite do the same in Announcements. Well, you can do it, but not cleanly. Announcements returns three errors:
Alert: The HTML tag '<param/>' is not allowed in formatted text.
The HTML tag '<param/>' is not allowed in formatted text.
The HTML attribute pattern ' wmode="transparent"' is not allowed
You can click past those and the video will embed (hence, you can get it to show up on the right side of the Home page instead of the left side of the Home page); but you'll see distracting code atop the object (screenshot attached).
Instructors are really excited about the idea of getting media onto their Home page. The smoother and cleaner the better.
