      Description

      When a new Sakai account is created, the user is sent a tinyURL link to click to complete their registration. Quite often, this URL terminates with a period '.' character, which mail clients strip off, and treat as punctuation, and not as part of the URL. Our helpdesk has had quite a lot of mails from users having problems with this, and have to tell them each time to copy and paste the link into their browsers.

      (the examples below show the typical format of these URLs.)

      For info, in Thunderbird on Mac the following links fail to be
      recognized in their entirety so are no good.

      http://domain.com/testpath-
      http://domain.com/testpath.
      http://domain.com/testpath!
      http://domain.com/testpath)
      http://domain.com/testpath,
      http://domain.com/testpath;

      The others all work.
