We had an instructor contact us because he had published an assessment in Samigo and had 26 students take it. When he went to look at the scores, only 12 students showed up as having taken the test. Further investigation into the matter revealed that students who had manually submitted the assessment were the ones that were showing up, and those that had relied on Auto Submit were missing. We managed to recover the submitted assessments that were not showing up for the instructor, but this seems like a significant flaw.
Authors should not have the ability to publish an assessment with the following combinations:
No time restrictions AND Auto-submit checked
**Assessment will never be submitted as in IM270077
Time restrictions given AND Auto-submit unchecked
**Assessment will not be submitted
I can't think of a use case where someone would want a time restriction put on an assessment and not want the assessment to submit after the time limit has expired. This leads me to the question of whether auto-submit should even be an option, or if it should happen by default for a timed assessment.
