Description

The Accessibility Working Group has received multiple comments that it would be helpful to screen-reader users if there was an overall summary of the purpose of a given page, what they can expect to do on that page, etc. The idea is that it would be really specific to the current state of the selected tool.

This feedback comes from screen-reader users we've worked with as well as comments made by personnel on other campuses who work at supporting students that are using screen-readers.

An example of such a description comes from SAM-1654:

Page description: The Course Homepage below provides a course description, as well as any posted meeting times, instructor office hours, and announcements over the last seven days. From this page, you can also access section information, if provided.

A similar JIRA, but restricted in scope, is present at:
      https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1654

The best implementation of this feature is debatable. Also, it would be a rather large undertaking.
