      Description

I sent an email a few weeks ago about an alternative implementation for Sakai search, using Solr to index and store informations (http://collab.sakaiproject.org/pipermail/sakai-dev/2012-May/017368.html).

Could this implementation (once it has been tested and validated) be considered as a default implementation in the long run? One of the advantages on the current implementation is that it relies on a well known external project which is maintained by a whole community, thus removing the need to maintain the current indexing system.

Here is the link to the implementation: https://github.com/ColinHebert/Sakai-Solr
