Description
As we discussed on the Morpheus call today, we used to be able to collapse the side left tool menu in a site when we needed more horizontal space, such as when viewing the Gradebook. However, we lost that feature with Morpheus.
On the call, it was revealed that this was on purpose, but attendees agreed that there is the need for more room. Users might want more space when they are visiting any tool.
The addition of expand and collapse buttons to the interface was suggested:

http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icon/compress/
I don't think we should hide the tool menu permanently as that will cause navigation issues and more clicks.
It was suggested that the expand button could convert the page to a view like the mobile size/view.
Mockup required before proceeding.
