Environment:Reported in the test site UVa-MJB Test Site on the Marist QA Server ( http://qa01-sakai.marist.edu:8080/portal/site/ac5c07cf-a69a-4d49-a77b-a4124f2806a0/tool/e69af124-623b-48cd-9416-be3628c608e3/overview)
Description
When creating a gradebook item, if a point value is entered and the item is assigned to a category in which keep/drop options are enabled, and in which the other items have a different point value, the page refreshes and the point value of the new item is changed to match that of the other items with no warning or notification message.
Expected and desirable behavior would be to display the notification message "Item value will change in order to support the drop highest, drop lowest, or keep highest setting," which appears when an existing item is edited and placed within a category in which keep/drop options are enabled.
To reproduce:
- Access the Gradebook tool in a test site (requires categories with keep/drop options enabled)
- Create a new gradebook item, and enter a point value different from the point value of the other items in a category
- Assign the item to a category
- Note that the page refreshes and the point value of the item changes without any warning
