When a visual impaired / blind user opens up the syllabus tool to view the instructor syllabus, the student using JAWS a link opens up in the middle frame of the page that says Syllabus. They then hit enter on that and a word doc or pdf file shows up visual below, however, it does not say anything, so has no idea that it is there and cannot figure out how to navigate to it either.
Testing with our accessiblity tester (Morgan) we had go to a test course in Sakai 11.2 and attempt to open it so JAWS can read it, when she click to open it a 2nd microsoft warning showed below starting to do you want to save, or open the file or cancel. However the JAWS didnt tell Morgan anything so she didnt know how to navigate from there.
We suggest adding labels to the syllabus page that tells a visual impaired / blind user what to do to open it.
