Make it easier for an instructor or course designer to import gradebook items and settings to Gradebook from Gradebook Classic.
After an upgrade to Sakai 11 or higher, if the instructor has the new Gradebook tool in a new class, and Gradebook Classic in an old class, there isn't a quick way to import that information. The "Site Info" > "Import from Site" process will not recognize the similarity between "Gradebook" and "Gradebook Classic." A workaround is for the instructor to go to the old site, add the new "Gradebook" tool into the menu, return to the new site, and then do the import operation. This isn't always intuitive or efficient for instructors importing content from past classes.
If the new site has "Gradebook" and the old site has "Gradebook Classic," is it possible to adjust the "Import from Site" tool to allow the user to select "Gradebook" and pull the items and settings from a site with "Gradebook Classic"? Perhaps test first if the old site has the new Gradebook, and use that if it exists, else test if "Gradebook Classic" and pull details from there?
As more and more institutions upgrade to either Sakai 11, 12, or beyond, this can make importing processes more user friendly for instructors. Since some professor may only teach a class once every other year, this issue may exist well after an institution upgrades Sakai.
