To reproduce:
1) Make sure the property
lessonbuilder.show.twitter.link=true
2) Go to Lessons tool. Add Content -> Embed Twitter Timeline
3) Configure with a Twitter account like @Apereo. I also tried just Apereo (it seems to remove the @ sign when you save the settings anyway).
Save and the feed does not display.
