Description
ISSUE / QUESTION:
Possible language issue (typing mistake?). Under the accordion heading "Show/Hide settings for sending feedback," the first checkbox text says "Overwrite current feedback (NOTE: It does not override by default)." Bold formatting added to highlight my inquiry: In the parenthetical note, should the verb be "overwrite" or "override"? I am wondering whether this was a data entry issue (should the second instance be "overwrite")?
Separately, I am unclear on the intent of the note. Would be be better to briefly clarify for the instructor the benefit/outcome of checking the box (e.g. if unchecked, the note is added to the bottom of any existing feedback; if checked, the note will erase existing feedback and replace with the new message)? I may need to create a separate JIRA on this as a feature request and solicit community feedback on preferred language.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
- As an instructor, create a course site and an assignment.
- As a student, submit something to the assignment.
- As instructor, click on "View Submissions" or "Grade" under the assignment.
- As instructor, on the assignment submissions page, click the accordion link for "Show settings for sending feedback" to reveal the checkbox options.
- Under the revealed options (the heading changes to "Hide settings for sending feedback"), the first checkbox option states "Overwrite current feedback (NOTE: It does not override by default)."
