      Description

      Google Analytics: Add support to anonymize the IP

      From the Sakai DEV list, contribution by Sanghyun Jeon :

      Dear All,

      I am not sure how many schools are using Google analytics in Sakai (SAK-25634, 29544), but I would like to share the current fix in our campus. Due to the GDPR, any place we're using google analytics, we did anonymize the IP addresses. Here's a good article which goes over changing the different implementations of google analytics you could have on a site.

      I just check the master branch of Sakai github and I don't see this feature yet. If I am wrong, please correct me.

      The fix is easy and simple and we just added one line into sakai/portal/portal-render-engine-impl/impl/src/webapp/vm/Morpheus/includeAnalytics.vm

      from

      ga('create', '${googleUniversalAnalyticsId}', { 'userId': portal.user.id });

      ga('send', 'pageview');

      to

      ga('create', '${googleUniversalAnalyticsId}', { 'userId': portal.user.id });

      ga('set', 'anonymizeIp', true);

      ga('send', 'pageview');

      If I miss any other files to be fixed, please let me know and hope this helps.
