edu-services > external GB item "release to students" setting overwritten on update

      1. Create a new site and add the Gradebook, Assignment and Tests & Quizzes tools.
      2. In Assignments, add a new assignment and select the option to add to Gradebook.
      3. In Tests & Quizzes, create and publish a new assessment, selecting the Settings option to add to Gradebook.
      4. In Gradebook, edit each of the new items (from Assignments and T&Q) and uncheck the release to student option and save your change.
      5. Verify that the two items now appear as greyed out on the Gradebook Items page (to indicate they are not released to students).
      6. Go back to Assignments and edit the assignment created in Step 2 to allow resubmissions.
      7. Click Post to save change to assignment.
      8. Back in Gradebook, on the Gradebook Items page, verify that the assignment still appears as greyed out.
      9. In T&Q, on the Published Copies tab, select Settings from the drop down menu beside assessment created in Step 3.
      10. In the Availability and Submissions section of Settings, modify the Late submissions accepted? date.
      11. Click Save at the bottom of the Settings page.
      12. Return to Gradebook and verify that the assessment item still appears as greyed out.
      13. Log in as a student in the site and verify that no Gradebook items are displayed in the Gradebook tool.
      14. Submit for both the assignment and the assessment.
      15. Return to Gradebook and verify no items are displayed after submissions.
      16. Log back in as instructor and edit the assignment (added text to text editor).
      17. Click Post to save this change.
      18. Go to Gradebook and verify that the Gradebook item for the assignment is still greyed out and not released.
      19. Go to T&Q and on the Published Copies tab, select Settings from the drop down menu beside assessment.
      20. Click Save (making no changes).
      21. Go to Gradebook and verify that the Gradebook item for the assessment is still greyed out and not released.
      22. Log back in as same student from Step 13.
      23. Return to Gradebook and verify no items are displayed.

      Description

      If the instructor has edited an external gradebook item in the Gradebook to remove the "Release to Students" setting, editing the associated quiz/assignment/etc. through the external tool will overwrite the instructor's previous choice to not release the item to the students.
