Description
There is a lack of information in calendar events for assignments when these assignments are no yet open.
My collegue Raúl has discussed this issue with T&L:
"Hi all
We need some feedback from TL group about an improve suggestion. Thanks in advance.
Use case:
1. Publish an assignment which have these dates:
Open date: a month from now
Due date: one day after the open date
Accept Until: Due date
Enable the "Add due date to calendar" check and publish the assignment.
2. As student try to open the assignment from Calendar tool. This message is displayed: "Alert: This assignment is not yet available."
This message can confuse students because the student is not able to know when the assignment is released. We believe the message should be like:
"The assignment is not released. The assignment title is available on open-date to the entire class. It is due due-date."
After reading this new message the student knows that the assignment is not yet available and when the assignment is released.
A similar message is displayed in the "Test&Quizzes" tool in the same context. What do you think about this suggestion?"
And this has been the answer received from Tiffany:
"Hi Raul,
I like the idea of telling the students the assignment is not yet released, and when it will be available, when they click on the calendar entry.
However, I would remove the part that says "to the entire class" because per SAK-41697, including release group names in the message can be a potential problem for privacy.
Tiffany"
