You will need rubrics, assignments, gradebook, Tests & Quizzes and forums for this test. I used 2 students for assignments (old/new grader tests) and for Tests & Quizzes to test grading the entire quiz and grading by question.

      1. Create a rubric
      2. Create an assignment, attach the rubric and send it to the Gradebook
      3. Create a Gradebook item and attach the rubric
      4. Create another gradebook item for a forum topic
      5. Create a new forum topic and link it to the gradebook item for the topic
      6. Create a quiz with a short answer question and attach the rubric. Allow the student too see all feedback on submission

      As the student

      1. Click Assignments and preview the rubric, then submit the assignment
      2. Click on Forums and post to the topic
      3. Click on Gradebook and preview the rubrics
      4. Click on Tests & Quizzes and submit the quiz

As the instructor (none of the rubrics should display selections made on reopening)

      1. Click on Assignments and grade the student using the rubric
        • With the new grader there is no cancel button in the rubric, so close the pop-up and click Cancel on the grading screen - no point value is passed to the grading screen
        • The old grading method also has no cancel button for the rubric, so make your selections then click Cancel Changes for the student
      2. Click on Gradebook and select Grade Rubric from the drop-down beside the student
        • Make your selections, then click Cancel - no score is passed, but currently, if you reopen the rubric, the selections are still kept
      3. Click on Forums - > Topic - > student - > Grade
        • Make some selections in the rubric then Cancel on the grading screen - no score is passed, but currently, if you reopen the rubric, the selections are still kept
      4. Click on Tests & Quizzes
        • Click on the student's name, make some selections in the rubric, then click Cancel at the bottom of the quiz
        • Grade by question: click the rubric icon, make some selections, click Cancel, then click Cancel again on the grading by question screen

Currently, all the rubrics display selections made if the instructor reopens them.

As the student (none of the rubrics should display any selections)

      1. Click on Assignments - > rubric icon
      2. Click on the assignment - verify the rubric is not displaying (hasn't been graded/released)
      3. Click on Gradebook
        • Verify there are no scores listed for either the gradebook item or the gb item for the forum topic
        • Click the rubric icon for both of these - currently they display the selections made, but should not
      4. Click on Tests & Quizzes
        • Verify no score displays for the quiz
        • Click feedback - currently the rubric displays the selections made, but should not

      Description

The Cancel button on rubrics does not work on the screens that have a cancel button. For screens without a cancel button on the rubric, clicking cancel for the item when grading does not wipe out the rubric selections either.

Once the instructor has made a selection in the rubric, if the instructor clicks Cancel on the rubric (or the item if no cancel button for the rubric), the score is not entered in the gradebook or assignment. However, the rubric selections are still kept and the student can see the selections made when clicking on the rubric for the gradebook (for a GB item, and forum topic).

For assignments, only the instructor sees the selected items.

      Rubrics with Cancel button:

      • Gradebook
      • Tests & Quizzes (grade by question)

      Rubrics without a Cancel button:

      • Assignments
      • Forum topic
      • Tests & Quizzes (grade entire quiz)
