      1. In a site with a Gradebook, make sure a test student has an earned course grade. This may mean adding a grade item column, making sure it's included in the grade, and then entering a grade for the student.
      2. Go to the Course Grade cell for that student and click the caret in the cell's lower right hand corner. Select Course Grade Override.
      3. In the Course Grade Override window, enter a different letter in the Grade Override cell. Click Save Course Grade Override.
      4. The new letter grade is now reflected in the Course Grade column for that student. The new letter grade will be shown in bold to signify the revision.
      5. Click the Import/Export tab and select Custom Export.
      6. The Custom Export window will open. Make sure Student ID and Course Grade are selected. Click Download Custom Export

Expected Behavior: In the exported CSV file, the overridden letter grade displays for the student in the Course Grade column.

Actual Behavior: In exported CSV file, column for Course Grade reflects student's original earned letter grade with no indication of an override.

      Description

When instructors override a final course grade in the Gradebook spreadsheet, they expect that update to stick when they export the course grades.  But as we've noticed the hard way, it doesn't.

Using the Custom Export feature, choosing to export the letter grades in the Course Grade column, the overridden grade is NOT reflected in the resulting export - the original calculated version of the grade is still showing in the Course Grade column. It's only when the instructor adds the Grade Override column to the export does the new grade show up as its own column. No one assumes they need to do that.

I believe the export needs to reflect the override/revised letter grade in the Course Grade column, as it is displayed in the Gradebook screen.
