I'm attaching several screenshots of tables in various tools that all have different formatting/styles/colors. Standardizing them would go a long way to improving the user experience.
I'm attaching screenshots for all the variations I can find.
Note the various header formats, the random use of bold and (esp. in Permissions) color.
Within just the calendar tool sometimes the header is bold and sometimes it isn't.
Sometimes items in table rows are bold and at times everything is weighted normally.
Sometimes the columns fit the content and at other times (ex. the calendar) the columns display with vast spaces in between them. It makes the Auto-groups table difficult to grasp. In Statistics-> Reports the empty column is vast.
In Announcements -> View the headers are all bold (both those that are links and those that aren't). In other tools nothing is bold.
In Announcements - Reorder the header is yellow with green text and no column dividers and the text is weighted normally.
Sometimes the header is white and the first row is shaded. Sometimes the header is shaded and the first row is white. Sometimes the header, the first row and the second row are all different colors. (see Assignments vs. Tests and Quizzes vs. Manage Participants).
Sometimes the header isn't even formatted with the table at all.
Assignments and Assignments by Student have two different table formats.
Sometimes headers that are shaded have different fill colors than other tables with the same format. The same goes for header items that are links- sometimes the link colors (unvisited) differ from other tables with the same format.
Some tools have tables that don't share any formatting with any other table (even in the same tool) such as the Roster -> list
The Rubric table is unique- all the same color of gray (with a link color of blue that's not used in other tools consistently and is hard to see on the gray fill.)
The search results probably should be in a table but are not. (ex. Preferences -> Sites and T&Q settings.)
Additionally, some select row options are on the left column and some are in the far right.
Profile should be reorganized with tables if that's the standard. (My connections and My pictures are not shaded in a way that makes sense semantically in relation to other tools)
