Environment:OS 10.4.8, XP Firefox, IE-6
Teaching assistant is able to "add" an announcement to a course site without permission. However, this only occurs when the teaching assistant is part of a "group" on that site.
Found on Server "qa1-nl" and Server "qa-1uk"
To replicate this bug:
1. On a given course site, go to "site info" and click on "add participants".
1a. Add a participant as a TA.
2. In "site info" click on "manage groups" and add this participant to a "group" on the site. (create one if none exist).
3. Log in as the new participant.
3a. click on announcements. You'll notice that the TA has the ability to "add" an announcement without permission.
3b. you'll also notice that when you click on the "add" link, the TA can only choose "display to selected groups" in the radio dial button options.
