There are three notification preferences options for users (within Preferences->Notifications):
      1. Do not send me any email confirmation
      2. Send me one email per day confirming all of my submissions
      3. Send me an email confirmation each time I submit an assessment (default)

and for an individual Test (In a test's settings -> Availability & Submissions):
      1. No - I do not want to receive any emails (default)
      2. Yes - send me one email digest each day
      3. Yes - send me an email for every submission

A basic test plan would be as follows:
      1. Ensure the auto-submit job is on
1a. Ensure that the Default Assessment Template allows the Instructor to edit the Submission Email setting (sakai.prop samigo.showAssessmentTypes must be true)
      2. Create InstructorA
      3. Create three user accounts
3a. StudentA - No email notification preference
      3b. StudentB - digest email
3c. StudentC - one email per submission
      4. Create a Site with InstructorA as the maintain role and Student

      {A,B,C}

      as access roles
      5. Create nine Tests in this course
5a. Normal Exam with no email
5b. Normal exam with a digest email
5c. Normal exam with an email per submission
5d. Timed exam with no email
5e. Timed exam with a digest email
5f. Timed exam with an email per submission
5g. Normal Exam with a retract date / due date, auto submit on, and no email
5h. Normal exam with a retract date / due date, auto submit on, and a digest email
5i. Normal exam with a retract date / due date, auto submit on, and an email per submission
      6. Take all the exams with each individual Student account
      7. Note the emails which are sent

StudentA should get no emails, StudentB should receive one digest email*, StudentC should get 9 emails, and InstructorA should receive 9 individual emails and one digest email*.

The second set of Normal exams could be combined with the first set, one would just need to take the exam twice if so. The first time submitting normally, and the second time just starting the exam and letting it sit (so auto-submit gets it).

      * Assumes all the tests are taken in the same day

      Description

Our faculty have requested that Test & Quizzes have an option to e-mail them when an assessment is submitted, as in Assignments. Ideally it would be configurable both individually per-quiz and globably from the "my workspace... user preference" screen
