      Description

Discussions posted in YAFT are used for formal Assignments in some courses.

The problem we've been experiencing is that students edit their messages (usually after seeing their low marks!) and this update is not viewable on YAFT. There is no date change (update to timestamp), no indicator or event that can be used to easily track this. Messages are not "closed down" once a mark is assigned which also allows for problems.
In the worst case we have now seen a student submit a blank comment prior to the submission date, and then subsequently go back after the due date and put an assignment in.

      We suggest three changes:
Option 1 : add edit permission (only create, delete, read at the moment) that can control option for role to update content
Option 2 : update the comment time stamp to reflect the real edit submission time not just the original creation date
Option 3 : create edit audit trail
